Walkable Golf in the Bay Area
The courses that let you carry or push, the ground you will cover, and what the walk costs today.
64 Bay Area public courses say on their own pages that you can walk, 36 of them with push carts allowed. Where a course describes the ground, it is marked flat (4), rolling (13) or hilly (12); the rest leave that unsaid. Flat courses come first in each region.

Walking the Bay Area, Briefly
How do we know a course is walkable?
Its own website says so: a walking rate on the rates page, a push-cart rental, or a stated policy. Courses whose pages are silent are left off rather than guessed at, so absence here is not a cart-only verdict. Terrain is recorded only where the course describes the ground itself.
Flat, rolling or hilly?
Flat courses sit on the bayshore and valley floors and walk easily in any season. Rolling courses have steady climbs between holes but no long hauls. Hilly courses mean real elevation; worth it for the views, but plan on a push cart and an extra half hour.
What does walking save?
Most Bay Area courses price the cart separately, typically $15 to $25 a rider for 18 holes. The live prices on each course page are the walking rate unless the course bundles a cart, which the rates note says.
Walking policies were read from each course's own pages and checked November 2026. Know a walking policy we have wrong? Tell us. See also the municipal courses, 9-hole courses and driving ranges of the Bay Area.
