Foxtail Golf Club North
Rohnert Park, California – 7200 Foxtail Dr, Rohnert Park, CA 94928
About Foxtail Golf Club North
Foxtail Golf Club's North Course was designed by Gary Roger Baird, ASGCA, and opened in 1974 as the second 18 at a Rohnert Park facility whose South Course dates to 1963. The course was redesigned by Donald Knott and Gary Linn in 2003 , a renovation that earned recognition as runner-up for 'Renovation of the Year' and lengthened the North Course to its current championship distance. The facility is managed by CourseCo, Inc.
On the course
Set in southern Sonoma County wine country, the North plays to 7,030 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72, with a course rating of 69.2 and a slope of 112 on Rye grass . The layout is the longer and more demanding of Foxtail's two courses: the par-72 North is considerably longer and more difficult than the par-71 South, featuring multiple doglegs and strategically placed sand traps, while water hazards don't play a prominent role, though they do appear on a few holes . Rolling fairways and large, undulating greens define the character on both Foxtail courses.
Who it suits
The signature test is the 7th, which has been rated as one of the most challenging holes in Northern California . Beyond the routing itself, Foxtail has built a reputation for environmental stewardship and has been awarded certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary .
The North suits mid- and low-handicap players who want a longer, more strategic round than the sister South Course offers, while forward tees keep it accessible. With 36 holes on site plus a full practice facility and Toptracer range, it's a practical choice for groups, leagues, and tournaments in the North Bay.
